This is a very well organized used book store. If you can't find anything you want to read on the shelves at the cabin, or you want a souvenir book, you will find plenty to choose from here. I especially like it that they separate Mysteries from Who-Done-Its.

Walking Distance .2 Mile (5 minutes walking, 1 minute by car) - Magpies
This historic cottage has been turned into a gift and home accessory shop.
There is a mulberry tree in the front yard, if you are in season.
You will walk right past this if you are walking to the park. It is at the end of Clairmont Drive, just past the other end of Meadowbrook Terr. on the same side of the Highway.

Walking Distance .5 Mile (15 minutes walking, 5 minutes by car) - Honeysuckle Hollow
This little shop is really something special. Gifts, collectibles, clothing and accessories, jewelry, antiques, soaps, local crafts, unique children's things, ribbons, bags... just too many things to list. The shop also giftwraps beautifully.
It is a long walk of a short drive from the cabin.
Walk up the hill, over the brook. Don't turn on Meadowbrook Terr. Stay straight up the hill on Clairmont Drive. You will pass Orleans Ave. You can walk left down Kensington. The shop will be on the left. When you walk back, you can take a right to go a little further down. Then walk left on Druid Hills Ave. It is nearly the same distance and the houses are beautiful. It is about a half mile each way, a little over a mile round trip.
If you are driving, turn right on US25, right at the light on Haywood Rd/US191. The shop is on the right. There is plenty of parking.

Downtown Hendersonville is only a mile and a half from the cabin. Hendersonville’s Downtown is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. There is plenty of free parking on and off street. This is 3.8 miles away. From the cabin, turn right on US-25.
Follow the signs for I-26 which will take you left at US-64 (6th Ave)
Just after you go over the Interstate, get in the left turning lane. The road you are turning on is Sugar Loaf Lane or Francis Road (NC-1516). But you really are just pulling straight into the parking lot.
